I had the best experience shopping with Sofa Beds Specialist. I bought the Compact Recast Double for my study in Mixed Dance (Blue) fabric. It looks absolutely amazing and really well made. I haven’t had the chance to use it as a bed yet but it feels comfortable to sit on with good support in the seat. From the first visit to the shop to the delivery and follow up calls, the staff Conny and Melissa were very helpful and polite.

If you are looking for a sofa bed, I definitely would recommend making a visit to the shop and check out all the different styles available.

I had been searching for an occasional guest bed which would not take up much room in what otherwise was my exercise room and could find nothing suitable – until I came upon Sofabed Specialists.  They offered a choice of ottomans which I had not seen elsewhere and which suited my needs perfectly.  I called to see if there was a chance to receive it in time for my visitors and Melissa went out of her way to take down details, call the freight company and get back to me to confirm it could be done.  The whole process was easy and painless.  The ottoman arrived exactly on time by very helpful delivery men who took it upstairs for me.  The colour of the ottoman is even nicer than in the image and the unit is perfect. It is well made, cleverly has the thicker mattress just where the body lies, with thinner parts under the head and legs and I was easily able to transform it into a queen sized bed and back with no help or difficulty.  I added a topper to be on the safe side and my guests said it was comfortable.  Probably not suitable for long term use, but perfect for a few nights.  I was very impressed with the company’s performance and product.  Could not have wanted better.

Very happy with the Loft Double Sofa bed – a good buying experience. Conny even photographed the colour in daylight for me. The delivery was prompt and although the guy put the box in my courtyard and it was a 40 kg box, I think, I was able to unbox it and bring in the pieces. I was also able to assemble it myself, with judicious use of books to get the back piece to line up perfectly with the metal framing. I had Ikea trepidation, but the instructions are clear and everything fitted together so much smoother than I had anticipated. All tools supplied. Easy to convert to a bed and I’m now hoping for comfortable guests (with the addition of a latex topper), when they can finally visit!

My sofabed arrived today, from Sydney (we’re in Melb) door to door and is EVERYTHING I hoped for and more!  When we decided to get a new sofa bed we returned to this company where we bought a sofa bed in 2015 for our spare room with feedback from guest being 100% positive. We decided on a Mosman queen sofa bed in Shiraz leather when we visited the showroom in early October and discussed our preferences with Conny. We communicated by email and phone to determine the best size for our purpose and Marcus visited our home to check there would be no issues with delivery of the sofa prior to us confirming. We were told delivery would be 5-6 weeks and indeed it was ready at 5 weeks. We are delighted with the comfort, colour and quality. I have no hesitation in recommending this company because of their products and customer service.

The couch has since been made and delivered, and we’re absolutely stoked with it – it’s a great way to have a spare bed in the study and save space when not in use as a bed, and the mattress is thick and even more comfortable than I was expecting so guests should have no trouble sleeping on it! Also really like the ‘TV’ mode of the mattress that allows the head of the mattress to be locked upright Thanks again Conny!

I live in Victoria and ordered a folding bed online from Sofa Bed Specialists. This place is amazing!! Less than an hour after placing my order, l received a phone call from the business. I spoke to Conny, who is a wonderfully warm and friendly person who makes purchasing a pleasure! Conny told me that the particular bed that l had ordered was actually made in Melbourne, so she would arrange to have it delivered directly from there. This made for a considerable saving in the delivery cost, and Conny immediately refunded the savings to my account. Later in the day we received a phone call to organise a suitable delivery time, and the bed was delivered the next day…….. barely 24 hours after l had placed the order!!! We were delighted with the service, and the folding bed lived up to all expectations and is great value money. After 15 years of solid use our old sofa and arm chairs needed replacing. They were tired and worn out. My wife and I returned to Sofa Bed Specialists because they built our previous seats so well. Nothing was rushed. No pressure applied. The hardest part of choosing furniture like this is the fabric. SBS have a huge range to choose from. Conny suggested we check out their range ( which is massive). Finally we decided. Conny and Marcus sourced the Warwick fabric and within 3 weeks our 2 new sofas were ready. Delivered promptly with helpful information on sofa care. Great communication throughout our purchasing. Emails answered promptly. Always calm, always honest and always happy to assist. My partner and I ordered (online) the Sydney 2.5 seater Sofa bed. We did this without visiting the store! My partner contacted the team for additional information about their range of Sofa Beds. Conny went above and beyond to be helpful and informative. She took additional pictures of the options we were considering, answered our many questions and even ensured that we would have next day delivery! When the men came to deliver our sofa bed, they encountered challenged maneuvering the bed up our stairs. Instead of giving up, they suggested lifting it up and over our balcony and came back after they finished their other delivered to help my partner do this. All the while they were professional, patient and helpful. Every aspect of the service and product (SUPER COMFY) was outstanding. We will be recommending them to any of our friends and family.

3x Oscar 2.5 Seater Sofabeds

‘Finding a lack of range in sofa beds in Adelaide, I searched on-line. Very fortunately I found Sofa Bed Specialists in Sydney. They have been fantastic! Five out of five stars! We purchased a Meredith Chaise sofa bed upholstered in Warwick Gosford Coral fabric. Looks wonderful. It is a very handsome looking sofa and has an extremely comfortable Gel innerspring mattress for sleeping. All along the way the staff, especially Conny, were exceptionally helpful – taking all the worry out of placing an order on-line. Conny asked good questions, responded promptly, offered honest advice, asked to see a photo of the space where the sofa was going to be located, etc. Far more assistance than you would receive in a shop. Finally it was delivered well before the estimated time. I can’t recommend them more highly.

We bought our sofa from here about a year ago as we really needed a good sofa bed for when we have family come and stay with us. From the first time (of many) I walked in the store to when our sofa was delivered we had an amazing experience with wonderful service. They kindly answered all of my questions each time I came in. They were not pushy for a sale and were very thorough and helpful working with me to find the right match for what we wanted. One of the owners even came out to make sure the sofa would be able to fit through the small spaces in our building when delivered. We ended up customising our couch as well. One year in and we can honestly say this is the best sofa bed we have ever owned, sat on or seen. We did upgrade to the gel mattress and our family loved it. The price, even with customising, seemed on par with prices of other sofa beds out there and this one is much better quality. We are so happy with them we are actually going back to buy a second one. If you are looking for a good sofa bed this is absolutely the place to go for quality product and amazing service by people who truly care. Cannot recommend this place enough. I rarely leave reviews at all but they were so good I felt I should.

Hi Conny, Just wanted to let you know that the Ottoman arrived on Tuesday last week. Wow what can I say it is brilliant and so easy to open and close.  My son slept on it last week for a night to give it a test and he said it was the best sleep he has ever had!!

It fits wonderful in my study and makes a great seat too.

Your customer service was outstanding; you could not helped me enough.  I have to confess to ringing another company in Sydney before I spoke to your company about a sofabed and the lady was very rude to me on the phone and basically said she did not have enough time to talk to me as she had customers in the shop.  Well she lost my business and then I contacted Sofabed Specialists and I am so glad I did.

Diana Supreme Deluxe Sofabed

Bought a sofa bed from these folks 6 years ago. A “Diana Deluxe Supremax Double Excess Sofabed Fabric Twist Granite” (bit of a mouthful, but if you want the best design, this is it!!). It’s excellent. The fabric has not worn at all — it looks brand new — and we have cats. It’s not the usual design. The bench and the backrest articulate into a bed. So it’s super firm. Not your typical sofa bed with a sagging mattress that makes you feel like it’s going to swallow you and gives a poor night’s sleep. Guests love it. After 6 years one of the wheels along which the bench part moves and articulates disintegrated. I emailed the store to ask if I could buy a replacement. The next morning Conny emailed back to say two — not one — replacement wheels were awaiting collection at the shop, for no charge. That’s service!! That’s back-up. And on top of an excellent product!! Money very well spent!! Great — GREAT — value for money. Thanks Conny and thanks Sofa Bed Specialists.

I liked the look of Sofabed Specialists sofa beds, and ordered one, with very helpful customer service from Melissa who was on the phone and emails with me as ideas went to and fro. This included Melissa sending me mock ups of the sofa with various fabric options, and samples of the fabrics posted very promptly.

Then there was a fabric supply issue, not Sofabed Specialists’ fault, followed by a whole lot of other toing and froing, all of which Melissa dealt with in the most helpful and friendly way, again involving swatches in the post and mock ups via email.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Melissa decided to go the extra mile and see if she could find a way to get me the original choice of fabric after all! And she did, at some cost to Sofabed Specialists! And there’s even more superb customer service to that story but I’ll stop here and finish with a big thanks and a recommendation!

Thanks Melissa, and Conny, and you’ll be my go-to for anyone I know who’s after the furniture Sofabed Specialists include in their catalogue.

Big decision to go with a light colour for my new 5-seater lounge after living with a very comfy, leather, terracotta lounge for thirty years.  Our family has taken Conny’s advice a few times over the past fifteen years or so when we’ve chosen sofa beds and two lovely big lounges from her shop.

I took Conny’s advice again on the choice of the fabric for my new lounge and am so, so glad that I did.
ZEPEL OFFER, Champagne was my final choice and I probably needed more than Champagne after I took the protective covering off the lounge.

In the excitement of ripping the plastic covering off, somehow I nicked my knuckle. Nothing to worry about . . .
Then it became obvious that there was blood on the very light-coloured, brand new, never-sat in-lounge! And in six places where I’d been plumping and pushing cushions into place.
The fabric lived up to Conny’s recommendation and all the blood was easy to blot off. The effect was immediate. Brand new lounge again. Thanks Conny!

Conny explained the delivery system, described and took a photo of the cover, and texted it to me, took my order and immediately followed up with an email receipt and tracking number for the transport company. I ordered on Tuesday and the sofa bed arrived, in perfect condition, on Friday of the same week. The sofa bed is sturdy and the mattress was very comfortable on my trial ‘lie down’. I just have to say that the service I received from this company made the decision to purchase the ottoman sofa bed from them very easy. After a few phone calls to Conny I decided to go ahead with the purchase as the ottoman was (a) what I wanted and (b) her manner and ability to have it delivered to me in Brisbane within less than 2 days made it a no brainer not to proceed. The charge Sydney to Brisbane was $110. I purchased it on Monday afternoon. It was delivered to my house, actually to the bedroom it was to be placed in, at 10.15 a.m Wednesday. I had previously looked at a another ottoman at a store here in Brisbane about 10kms from my house and the delivery cost was $79. I would highly recommend the Sofa Bed Specialists. We’ve had our sofa bed for six years. It has been used regularly – mostly for one and two night stays by grandparents and friends. Occasionally we have overseas visitors for three week stays and they have found it to be as comfortable as a normal bed. I initially chose this sofa bed as it is as close to a real bed as you’ll get. When I tried the sofa beds at Freedom and elsewhere, the mattresses just did not compare. The lounge itself is used daily and Warwick fabric which looks as good as new. I recently rang with a question and the customer service was fab. Easy to convert from lounge to sofa bed. Can’t think of a single fault.

This is our second lounge from Conny and Marcus.  Our first one is 16 years old, still in great condition but we did a renovation and new furniture.  The old one now has a home with one of our children.

Conny was great to deal with, guiding us when we were unsure of fabrics and the sizing of the lounge and chairs.  Nothing was too much trouble, lots of fabric samples sent to us and lots of discussions before we made our final choice.

There was never any pressure to buy, we were always encouraged to take our time and think about what would work in our newly renovated home.

Double Ottoman with timber slats

The folding sofabed arrived at my sisters last night and we went and collected it and took it to mum’s.  The Sofa Bed is wonderful and not only did it fit perfectly next to the palliative care bed dad is using but it was wonderful for mum to sleep on.  Mum says she had a wonderful sleep and is able to fold it up out the way easily.

I am a member of the Brindabella Ski Club and have had the pleasure of working directly with Conny & Marcus Harvey, of Sofa Bed Specialists at Drummoyne, NSW,  in my capacity as a sub Committee member with responsibility for the design and fitout of our new ski Club lodge currently being built in Guthega, within the Perisher Blue ski resort of Kozsciusko National Park in NSW.

We have once again selected Conny and Marcus to assist our ski club with fitting out a new lodge based on our very positive experience when they supplied bedding and lounges and sofabeds for our Thredbo lodge, which we completed 3 years ago.  Both lodges are 26 bed capacity and Sofa Bed Specialists were able to meet our needs and supply to order in a very tight timeframe in the case of our Thredbo lodge, including delivery to the door.

My experience of Sofabed Specialists is that they are very knowledgeable of the range of high quality products out there on the market and have access to a diverse range of styles and materials to meet our needs.  Their customer service is outstanding with attention to detail, prompt follow up  on all our requests and questions and professional and friendly approach in all our dealings with them.  Most importantly, they were also able to provide a very competitive pricing structure on all our needs – to the extent that this time around we are also using them to supply a range of bedding and lounge accessories and furniture in addition to our order for beds, sofabeds and lounges.

I have no hesitation in recommending them.
